Hibberdene Strand

Hibberdene, situated a comfortable 97 km south of Durban, has become a popular holiday destination with local families and foreign travellers alike and is well known for its lovely shark-protected beach.

Diving, snorkelling and scuba diving is very popular due to the warm Indian Ocean that laps the shores. Boating in the lagoon is also a favourite pastime.

The beach is within comfortable walking distance to the shopping centres and has lovely grassed sites for picnics, sunbathing or just chilling.

There is family entertainment at the Fun Pub, next to the lagoon, which offers mini-golf, paddling boats, trampolines and a super tube.

The locals exhibit their arts and crafts in designated areas near the ablution blocks.

There are capable lifeguards on duty in the holiday seasons and the beach is considered safe.
