Bollard Beach is situated in  Knysna in the Western Cape of South Africa.

Of all the beaches along the  Garden Route, Bollard beach on Leisure Island is the perfect family friendly beach. It is a safe swimming beach with plenty of shallow water in the lagoon for the young ones to splash around in. At low tide visitors can walk along the sand up to the Knysna Heads to explore the area and discover fascinating sea creatures. During high tide the area is ideal for activities such as canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, kite-boarding and of course swimming.

The beach offers beautiful surroundings, soft white sand and magnificent views of the Knysna Heads and is never too crowded ensuring your walk on the pure white beach is pleasant and peaceful. Bollard Beach is the perfect spot for a beach picnic and water fun, the beach is also pet friendly so the whole family can enjoy their day in the sun.

Visitors should remember to bring along their own refreshments as there are no facilities or services at the beach.

Admission

The Beach is open every day of the year during daylight hours and there is no admission fee charged.

Climate

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 15˚C and 28˚C with high rainfall in October.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 7˚C and 21˚C with the lowest rainfall in June.

Transport

Commercial Airlines offer flights into  George Airport. The N2 highway will take you into the Knysna, approximately a one hour drive. Car hire facilities are located at the Airports.
