Alfred Dunhill Championship

Start of the Tour

The Alfred Dunhill Championship will again be taking place at the exclusive Leopard Creek Country Club, just south of the Kruger National Park. This professional golf tournament, which is part of the Southern African Sunshine Tour and one of four events in South Africa that is co-sanctioned by the prestigious European Tour, has been hosted by the beautiful Country Lodge since 2004.

The prestigious tournament is a professional men’s tournament which draws an impressive local and international field of golfers. Past winners include the likes of Major winners Ernie Els and defending Champion Charl Schwartzel, who also became the youngest ever winner on the European Tour when he won the Alfred Dunhill in 2004.

The tournament will be the first of the 2016/2017 European Tour International Series and spectators can look forward to getting to watch golfers from all around the world, playing their best game possible. Another innovation this year and no doubt an exciting addition for visitors to the event is the nine-hole stroke tournament that will take place on the Wednesday before the main the tournament. If you can’t make it a day early, the pre-tournament will be televised world-wide on SuperSport.
