Alongside the Breede River, just a few kilometres outside of Swellendam is where the much anticipated Up The Creek Festival takes place. The longest running music festival in South Africa and arguably the most unique one too, this happens each year, since the Summer of 1990, and approximately 2500 like-minded crazy music lovers gather to enjoy their first music festival of the year!

The long weekend is jam packed with entertainment and with this year having 4 separate stages, no-one will be hosting acts at the same time. There are all music genres from original Rock ‘n Roll and Pop to Indie Folk and well-known DJ’s, everyone is guaranteed to be entertained the whole time. There will be plenty to eat including scrumptious vegan and vegetarian delights, farm stall treats, gourmet coffee and cold drinks!

If this isn’t enough to convince you of the amazing weekend on offer, come join in the crazy fun on the River. Think of crazy inflatables, lobster lilos, huge tubes, rafts, inflatable boats and just about anything that floats, then bring it along with you and soak in the water and summer sun!

There are also four camping sites to choose from, all on a first come first serve basis. This is one of the few festivals that still allow patrons to camp alongside their car, if they wish, otherwise there are also greener campsites where no cars allowed and for the those who don’t like to pitch their own tent, then the Heartbreak Motel Site is for you where you can choose from two types of tents that will be pre-pitched for your comfort. This, however, is not included in your ticket whereas camping is!

Just imagine the fun, good vibes and partygoers dancing and listening to some incredible music on a stage built on the waters’ edge – come float down the river with us!
