South Africa
skoonheid jy sal nooit vergeet nie

Westbrook Beach, along the Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, lies between La Mercy and Ballito. It was first awarded Blue Flag “pilot status” in 2014 and full Blue Flag status since 2015.

A Blue Flag is an international award given annually to beaches that meet a standard of excellence in the areas of safety, amenities, cleanliness, and environmental management. KwaZulu-Natal now boasts nine Blue Flag beaches along its coastline.

This pretty beach no only offers locals and holiday makers a safe swimming environment with Life Guards on duty and surrounding shark nets, but also warm waters and long stretches of soft sand. The beach is surrounded by luscious foliage and lovely rock pools. The kids will love exploring all the fascinating creatures of the sea in these rock pools, feel the sandpaper texture of the starfish or watch the whelks make their way slowly across the rocks.

Fishermen enjoy fishing from the shore and for those wanting to venture further out there is a boat launch spot. The beach is also popular for water sports including kayaking, surfing and body boarding.

Bring the family, pack the picnic basket and head for this unspoilt beach – you will not be disappointed!
