Hazyview is situated in the Mpumalanga Province, South Africa.
The lazy town of Hazyview is the “Gateway” to the southern part of the renowned Kruger Park as well as to the spectacular escarpment with its waterfalls, forests and panoramic views of God’s Window and Blyde River Canyon. Most of the provinces private game reserves can also be found just east of Hazyview.
It is a small farming town, surrounded by sub-tropical fruit orchards, but most well-known for its banana industry and visitors to the area will see rows and rows of these lush tropical plantations.
There are plenty of adventure activities offered in the area, the most popular being hot air ballooning over the colourful Mpumalanga countryside. Other activities include elephant rides, river rafting, tubing, abseiling, quad biking, zip lining, hiking trails and trout fishing.
Hazyview boasts numerous gourmet restaurants and friendly pubs as well as an array of accommodation, with Hotels, Lodges, Guest Houses, Self-catering, camping and at 56 Game Lodges in the area. With much to experience and see, Hazyview is a must visit destination and will undoubtedly remain in your memory.

Climate
Rainfall occurs mainly in the mid-summer months, with December and January seeing the highest levels.
Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 17˚C and 30˚C.
Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 7˚C and 19˚C.
Transport
There are daily flights from Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town into the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Mombela (Nelspruit). Car rental companies are available for easy access to the surrounding areas, Hazyview is 60 km away which is just under an hours’ drive. Road trips from Johannesburg via the N12 and N4 will take approximately 5 hours.
Festivals
September - Spring Festival: Held at the Rendevous Center this event has become very popular with the locals. Flea market, farmers market, food stalls, beer garden, children’s entertainment & music.
History
The towns name is derived from the shimmering haze that occurs during the heat of the summer season and envelopes the low bush land. Hazyview after having become an important trading post for the nearby farming communities was granted town status in 1959.
