Timbavati Road

This route is considered on of the best drives in die Kruger National Park. It follows the Timbavati River, which enters the Kruger Park close to the Maroela Camping site and is a tributary of the Olifants River.

Elephant, giraffe and kudu are seen regularly and the prince of cats, the leopard have often been spotted on this route.

There a few spots along the way where you can get out and strech your legs, the Timbavati Picnic Spot and the Ratelpan Birdhide.

The Piet Grobler dam is situated after the birdhide, a large concrete dam named after Piet Grobler, who had a big part in the forming of the South African National Parks Board.

The route then travels another 27km before joining up with the H1-4 towards Olifants.
