Pringle Bay Beach in Pringle Bay, Western Cape
Pringle Bay Beach is pristine and spotless and only an hour away from Cape Town. The beach is a stunning long and wide beach with sugar-white fine sand.
The seaside town of Pringle Bay lies in the shadow of the Hangklip Mountain which gives its main beach a beautiful mountain backdrop behind the fynbos-clad sand dunes. The silver sandy beach stretches for approximately 2 kilometres and the beach has some wonderful rock pools and crevices at the far end which are just perfect for snorkeling. There is also a small lagoon with clear water where the Buffels River enters the sea. The lagoon is an ideal spot for toddlers to swim as the water is warm and calm.
Surfers and body boarders come to the bay beach when the conditions are perfect and enjoy the robust waves flowing from False Bay. Weekends, in season, will see rubber ducks and kayaks on the water with drivers out catching their quota of crayfish. Permits are required for fishing at the Pringle Bay Beach.
Despite the fact that Pringle Bay Beach is one of the most beautiful the Cape has to offer, it is never crowded, not even at Christmas time. The beach is one of the most perfect spots to spend the most relaxing days you could have. Bring a picnic basket, stroll along the beach, let the kids swim, splash and paddle the day away at one of the safest beaches you can find.
Don’t end you day too soon, Pringle Bay is one of the few beaches that face north – the sunsets are spectacular!
