One of the Top 10 Nine-hole Golf Courses in SA

The Graaff-Reinet Golf Course is situated just outside  Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

The course has 9 holes with 18 tee boxes and is a 71 par parklands golf course. The course has Kikuyu grass fairways and Bayview greens with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The scenery is classic Karoo with the exception of the courses 9 lush green fairways in this otherwise dry region.

The Graaff-Reinet Golf Club was founded in 1897 making it one of the oldest Clubs in the country. The Club began playing on a ground course with a sand and oil mixture serving as greens. It moved three times, before settling in 1994, at its current location.

The golf club has been listed by both Golf Digest and the Complete Golfer Magazines, as one of the Top 10 nine-hole golf courses in the country.

Fees

Green fees vary between R50 and R210. Prices are subject to change so it is recommended that interested parties contact the Golf Course directly.

Open

The Golf Club is open Monday to Sunday. Visitors welcome every day.

Climate

Rainfall occurs mainly in the autumn months, with March seeing the highest levels. Winter nights can drop below freezing.

Summer months, November to March will have average temperatures of between 11˚C and 30˚C.

Winter months, May to August will have average temperatures of between 2˚C and 16˚C.

Transport

There are flights into  Port Elizabeth International Airport, from all major cities in South Africa, on a daily basis. Car hire facilities are available and the airport is approximately 264 km from Graaf-Reinet.
