Meirepoort is a short pass, wider than most, and one of many in this mountainous area.  It will only approximately six minutes to drive so it is possible to explore more than one pass at a time.

To approach from the south, you would head west out of Steytlerville on the gravel road to ward the start 25 km from the town. To approach from the north west, you would first drive the Sandkraalpoort pass just off the R329, as well as Medenpoort and only then will you turn right at the T-junction which marks the point start of the Meidepoort pass.

The Meidepoort Pass is an easy drive with gentle bends and slight gradient. For most of the Pass your road is more or less straight, and the highest point will be at the 2.3 m mark, but there is nothing significant about this point to make you realise you have reached the summit. It is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the easy ride and unique scenery.
