Purpose

The Deneysville Residents Association’s primary function is to promote safety and security in Deneysville and to ensure that local authorities such as the Metsimaholo Local Council and the South African Police Services operate adequately. They tackle issues of non delivery by government, lack of town maintenance, Municipal budgets and town planning. Due to meetings held with the Municipality, roads have been repaired, long standing leaks have received attention and street lights are being repaired.
There is a monthly meeting held at Brentwood Lodge on the last Thursday of every month at 18:30.

Neighbourhood Watch (DRAC)

The Deneysville Residents Association also run a neighbourhood watch patrol manned by volunteers who live in town. This patrol drives around town every night ensuring that the residents are safe and secure. The crime statistics have come down markedly since the patrol started operating.

Funds

Average monthly running costs for the patrol are R 4500-00, in addition to this they need to purchase, maintain and ensure a vehicle for the patrol's use. R50 / month from each household will ensure that these patrols can continue.

Only a small percentage of residents of this town patrol or contribute to the patrol. Every resident has a vested interest in improving his town and ensuring the low crime levels they have experienced since the patrol started. Don’t make the mistake of sitting back and letting every one else ensure your safety while you do nothing in return. The patrols are not able to operate sufficiently with a lack of funds. They need commitment and assistance from all the residents.
