Crocodile Creek, about an hours’ drive north of Durban, lies nestled in dense coastal bush overlooking the Tongaat River. It is a working farm which as established in 1983 by the Watson family and has since built a solid reputation as one of the country’s “Best Activities” in the KwaZulul Natal Province.

Visitors, of all ages, to Crocodile Creek are in for a fascinating, interactive and fun experience. This working farm is home to approximately 10 000 Crocodiles - Niles Crocodiles, West African Dwarf Crocs, Slender-Snouted Crocs and American Alligators. Other inhabitants include a wide variety of Snakes as well as Tortoises, Lizards, Monkeys, Rabbits, Mongeese and Timber Wolves.

Crocodile Creek provides family or individual tours daily where, under the watchful eye of a guide, visitors can perhaps touch and interact with some of the youngers residents at the farm. With over 100 years of combined experience between the Farm Guides, Crocodile Creek will give you a unique insight into the lives of these fascinating Carnivores. The venue is specifically designed with walkways and decks that allow for ideal viewing platforms.

Families can relax and enjoy a light snack, browse through the gift shop and let the kids play in the picturesque garden settings. The space and venue are large enough for groups and can bookings for special occasions can be arranged.

Due to connectivity issues the farm faces during the holiday peak season, it is recommended visitors bring cash in case of signal loss during this time.

Find Us

From Durban

Take the N3 north from Durban towards Ballito. Take the Tongaat off-ramp and turn right into Ushukela Drive (Watson Highway) towards Tongaat. At the T-junction, turn right into Gopalall Hurbans Road. Travel north on Gopalall Hurbans Road for approximately 3.3km and turn right into Greylands Road. Travel east on Greylands Road for approximately 2.9km and turn right into D809.

Follow D809 under N2 bridge to Crocodile Creek.

From Umhlanga

Take the M4 North (Coast Road) to oThongati/Tongaat circle junction, (Croc Creek 14 Km sign) take the first exit left to oThongati/Tongaat, follow road to oThongati/Tongaat, Follow oThongati/Tongaat directions above.
