South Africa
plekke wat jy nooit sal vergeet nie

Driving into the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, just one hour's drive from Cape Town, you will notice that most of the farms still bear their original French names and are usually complete with a spectacular Cape Dutch homestead, towering oaks and luscious vineyards.

The Franschhoek Wine Route is one of the oldest and most beautiful wine routes where over thirty wine cellars produce some of the country's top wines. The members of the Vignerons de Franschhoek continue the wine-making tradition started by the Huguenots some 300 years ago, when they fled their homeland from religious persecution, producing classic wines from noble cultivars, from whites such as Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon to exceptional sparkling wines.

The valley has just launched a Cap Classique route that includes nine cellars, within a distance of 4 km, in a combined marketing initiative. The sparkling wine tour includes teaching visitors about the methods of making Cap Classique, in a unique attempt to add value to wine consumption.
