Public invited to view reconditioned Campanile Bells
The Campanile Memorial is a tall red brick structure and the name means Bell Tower in Italian. It was built in honour of the 1820 British Settlers. The memorial can be found at the entrance of the railway station and the harbour, at the very spot the settlers set foot in the country. From its observation room a visitor is offered a spectacular view of the harbour and the surrounding area. The bells can be heard 3 times a day. The Campanile memorial was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 12 May 1989. It is advisable to visit this memorial in a group.
