The Erfenis Dam is a popular weekend destination for locals who enjoy camping, picnics and fresh- water fishing. The Dam also has a nature reserve at the north western end of the Dam, close to the wall.

The Pass is rather mundane but has an interesting story about how it may have got its name – it is allegedly named after the ringing sound emitted by two rocks in the area when struck together. At one time the summit was also the start of the Bells Pass Hiking Trail - base camp was in the form of Uitsig hut, or 'hut with a view' and the views out over the Bloemfontein valley were pretty remarkable.

In this flat part of the country mountain passes are few and far between and this small Pass presents only moderate gradients and only four very gentle curves. It rises gently up the hillside at a fairly straight angle and offers good views of the Free State farmland on its descent.
