Kinyonga Reptile Centre

Kinyonga Reptile Centre is situated about 15 km outside Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province, South Africa.

The Reptile centre is situated in an area that has a high concentration of snakes and other reptiles which also means there is a high frequency of interaction between these reptiles and humans. This therefore also places the Centre in the prime location for reptile-related research and public education.

The centre is open for day visitors who can take self-guided tours where each animal’s habitat has lots of useful information on feeding, distribution, venom and other interesting information. For guests who wish to interact with the reptiles and have more of a “touch and feel” experience, there are interactive tours available, as well as tours for amateur and professional photographers, these tours require prior booking.

Reptiles at the centre include snakes, frogs, scorpions, lizards and spiders. No reptiles are bought or sold, so the breeding of these animals are kept to a limit and therefore only animals that can be released or relocated will be part of the breeding program.
