Pioneer Dam Hide

Across from Mopani Camp overlooking the Pioneer Dam is a hide where you can spend quite some time watching the hippos and waterbirds.

The Pioneer dam was built in 1980 and serves as a permanent watersource in the North.

Here you can see Great Egret, Purple Rollers, Woolly-Necked Stork, White breasted Cormorant , Brown hooded- and Pied Kingfisher.

Only eight vehicles are allowed at one time and there are no ablution facilities.
