Providing the perfect space to relax in a warm, rustic and welcoming setting, you’ll be nourished inside and out. We have designed our menu around what is in our garden, what is seasonal and locally available to ensure that our food is sustainable and has the smallest carbon footprint; food that is in its purest natural form, high in trace minerals, bio-available proteins and iron and vitamins.

We are open for lunch from 09h00 to17h00 Wednesday to Sunday.

We are happy to welcome you to Leafy Greens to experience our farm & try a piece of our already famous Strawberry Cheesecake. We also make fresh juices, smoothies & desserts that are sugar, dairy, wheat & gluten free.

We manufacture a range of natural gourmet food products that are available in our shop & a few other shops around Johannesburg. Stock our products in your shop! If you are in the business, have a health shop and would like to stock our products - please contact us for a wholesale price list.

We cater for events and conferences.

What is Vegan ?

Being a vegan is definitely more of a lifestyle choice and a philosophy than a diet. A vegan usually does not eat anything that is of animal origin and lives a life in which no animals are harmed.

A research review conducted in 2009 indicated that vegan diets tend to be higher in dietary fibre, magnesium, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron and phytochemicals, and lower in calories, saturated fat, cholesterol, long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, calcium, zinc and vitamin B12.

About Antonia

Antonia De Luca, the owner and founder of Leafy Greens Café is a vibrant and passionate young woman who has lived in Muldersdrift most her life on the farm at Rocky Ridge.

She attended Stellenbosch University and Bond University in Australia. She has degrees in marketing/entrepreneurship and an MBA in Finance. Antonia was brought up a vegetarian and has always been involved in the family restaurant business so naturally she was to end up in the hospitality industry, but with a difference.

She opened Leafy Greens Café, a raw food and vegan-friendly restaurant on the organic farm at Casalinga after traveling the USA extensively and studying nutrition and health. She completed the Life Change Program at Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida and visited many raw food restaurants in the USA for inspiration, from this, her café was born!

Antonia is delighted to welcome you to Leafy Greens; a place of healthy, hand-crafted food, a place for healing, and a peaceful escape with fresh air and the outdoors.

Inspiration

There are two things that Italians are world-famous for – passion and food. Having grown up in a family with a passion for cooking, I have learnt a lot about Italian cuisine. With great wisdom and knowledge passed down through the generations as my foundation.

When we started eating like this it was purely for our health, but it soon became a conscious effort to start living sustainably. All the answers we need are found in nature and we can once again bring about balance and find our true magic.

Passion

My real passion for health food and raw food began in 2010 when I was privileged enough to spend 6 months in the USA.

I completed the three week Life Change Program that taught a holistic approach to health, wellness and the healing power of plant-based foods. With early morning meditations and yoga sessions followed by wheatgrass shots, talks, therapies and healing on various levels, my journey began as my mind was opened to the glory and splendor of raw food and the beauty of fruits and vegetables in their natural form.

As my passion grew, I felt I needed to fine-tune my culinary skills and attended Matthew Kenney Academy in Oklahoma. I had the time of my life as I perfected recipes that are fresh, unique, tasty and healthy.Surrounded by the love and support of remarkable family, friends, mentors, teachers and loyal and committed staff, we are set for a long career of changing people’s lives, one meal at a time!

Our Philosophy

The concept is unique as we have designed our menu around what is available in our gardens.

Preserving a treasured legacy, Leafy Greens will enable people to come back to life, eating living foods. To eat simply. To grow our own food; or at least know where our food comes from, ultimately empowering ourselves as we truly savour the beauty of each fruit and vegetable; bringing the authentic flavours of vegetables, fruits and herbs to their fullness and enjoy them for health and longevity.

Eat Well, Do Good!
