Work, play or celebrate in the footsteps of the stars

Peter Mokaba Stadium is situated in Polokwane in the province of Limpopo, South Africa.

The Stadium is the official football and rugby union stadium in the area and was one of the five new stadiums built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Named after Peter Mokaba (1959 – 2002), a former leader of the ANC Youth League and who was imprisoned on Robben Island for his struggle against apartheid, the stadium can be found just 5 km from the city centre.

The crisp, modern design of the stadium was inspired by the ancient baobab tree. At each corner of the steel and concrete stadium is a cylindrical structure that resembles the muscular trunk of the tree.

The stadium hosted four Group Matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has a seating capacity of 45 000, including 1 675 allocated seats for media representatives and 500 allocated seats for VIP's.
