Since the early 1900’s the Zelter family have grown their farming business in the Stellenbosch area. Their farm has supplied local markets, major shopping chains and even the overseas markets with top quality fresh produce. Now, most famous for their strawberries in the summertime, visitors have come from far and wide to personally pick the sweet berries themselves.

Brightly coloured scarecrows welcome visitors from the time they arrive and keep the guests company all the while they pick their own strawberries from the fields. The many scarecrows in the surrounding strawberry fields have been photographed by tourists from all over the world.

Guests to the Mooiberge Farm, however, don’t just come for the strawberry picking, but linger longer because of the superb farmstall. Inside the stall there is a large selection of dried fruits and nuts, fresh fruits, preserves, sauces and ice-creams and sweets.

An added attraction is the winery which has a large number estate wines on sale as well as of vintage wines dating as far back as the 1970’s. The farm stall is popular and busy most times of the year, so if you are in the area do not miss out on the variety of tourist attractions at this amazing Farmstall.
