The Seekombuis is an open-air restaurant which can be found at the entrance to the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve, just outside Paternoster, and no trip to this part of the country is complete without a stop at this local venue.

The Seekombuis offers a lunch or dinner experience as close to the sea as you can get, with old crayfish boats that have been converted into tables, right near the water’s edge. The undercover seating is also set on the beach and no matter where you choose to enjoy your meal you can sink your toes into the sea sand and appreciate a true west coast experience.

The view is breath-taking and the atmosphere all comes together perfectly as the restaurant is draped in green fishing nets and seashell strings. Owners and staff are friendly and the food is typically home-cooked and delicious as owners Neels and Attie “don’t use recipes and just cook from the heart”!

The Starter includes freshly baked bread from wood fire ovens and homemade jam, complimented with delicious snoek patѐ! There are always a minimum of 10 choice dishes for lunch or dinner, mostly seafood dishes, but the menu also includes meat potjies cooked on an open fire.

Lighter pub lunches are served at the “Knertse met Eish” Bar, the perfect spot for a sundowner!

Admission

No Admission Fee, inform them at the Tietiesbaai Gate that you are going to the Restaurant so you do not have to pay the Reserve entrance fee.

Drive through Vredenburg and ± 17 km to Parternoster
