The Atlantic Seaboard
Because of its beautiful sea views, Sea Point has always been the ideal recreation destination. This vibrant seaside suburb of Cape Town is situated just outside the city centre between Mouille Point, Green Point and Bantry Bay.
Sea Point, has thankfully overcome its former reputation for being a crime hotspot, and now enjoys a bustling 24-hour cosmopolitan vibe and offers many outdoor activities thanks to its unique location tucked between Lion’s Head and the rocky Atlantic coastline.
The Promenade, one of Sea Point’s biggest attractions, offers something for everyone from beautiful beaches, swimming pools and the best sunset views in town to art, an outdoor gym and restaurants. The Promenade runs the length of Sea Point’s beachfront, from Bantry Bay to Mouille Point and is particularly busy early morning, with joggers, and late afternoon with couples waiting to watch the sun set right next to the waters of the Atlantic seaboard before heading out for dinner with a view or a trendy nightspot.
Sea Point is also a great location from which to sightsee the city of Cape Town. Hop in a vintage sidecar and enjoy the wind in your hair while touring the city, the must be see at beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are only a short drive away, shop and enjoy all that the famous V&A Waterfront has to offer or jump on a City Sightseeing Bus and explore the area around Sea Point!
Sea Point offers beachfront luxury apartments, hotel accommodation and self-catering units where visitors can come to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday.

History
Sea Point got its name in 1776 when one of the commanders serving under Captain Cook, Sam Wallis, encamped his men in the area to avoid a smallpox epidemic in Cape Town at the time. It grew as a residential suburb and by 1839 merged into a single municipality with its neighbour Green Point.
With the 1862 opening of the Sea Point tramline, the area became Cape Town's first "commuter suburb", though the line linked initially to Camps Bay. By the turn of the century, the tramline added a line to the city centre.
Sea Point is the only sea-side suburb of Cape Town with significant high-rise development and this, along with other factors, has made it a very popular residential area.
