South Coast Hot Spot
Shelly Beach is a seaside village along the Kwa-Zulu Natal South Coast, situated half way between Port Shepstone and Margate. The quaint holiday destination gets its name from the wide variety of shells found on the beach during high tide.
Naturally Shelly Beach is a shell collector’s dream where shells from the Indo-Pacific group and the finest miniature Pink Lady shells can be found. The main beach is ideal for families too, with shark nets and life guards during the holiday season. Protea Banks, a submerged reef approximately 7 km’s out to sea, is very popular and well-known with snorkelers and scuba divers as it is teeming with exquisite tropical fish!
A slice of tropical paradise, Shelly Beach boasts not only an abundance of water sports opportunities, but also some beautiful scenery with numerous tidal pools and lagoons to visit. Attractions and activities in the surrounding area include animal parks, farm stalls, adventure sports and so much more.
The Shelly Centre is one of the few shopping malls along the South Coast and offers an excellent variety of shops, department stores, a diverse range of restaurants and fast food stores as well as cinemas.
This holiday destination offers every type of accommodation to suit every travellers pocket. Choose from self-catering apartments, B&B’s, Guesthouses, Beach cottages, camping and caravanning or 5-Star Hotels.
